Anne SJ Farina, PhD, LICSW is an Assistant Professor in the Social Work Department at Seattle University. As a practitioner, Anne developed research informed models of assessment for immigrant adults and children and created a somatic based intervention for children to decrease trauma symptoms. In her research, Anne focuses on trauma-focused interventions, race-based trauma, intergenerational trauma, and trauma-informed relationships. She is also involved with community-based research projects, including pilot studies of the somatic based trauma-focused intervention. She teaches courses in the areas of social work practice, human development, and trauma-informed social work practice.
