Hye-Kyung Kang, MA, MSW, Ph.D. is Professor at Seattle University where she served as the inaugural Chair of the Social Work Dept and founded a social justice-focused and community-based clinical MSW Program. She is a first-generation immigrant Korean American social worker and received her MSW and PhD from the University of Washington School of Social Work. Dr. Kang’s scholarship addresses social justice in social work education, cultural citizenship, Asian American immigrant communities, and postcolonial social work practice. She is a co-author of a recent book, Racism in the United States, 3rd ed. (Springer).
