Dr. Jessica Tye, EdD, LICSW-MN, LCSW-NH is a Professor and Department Chair in the trauma-informed clinical MSW program at Winona State University in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Tye earned a Doctorate in Education from St. Cloud State University and a Master of Social Work from the University of St. Thomas. Dr. Tye has been a full-time faculty member for over 13 years.
Dr. Tye is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota and in New Hampshire and continues clinical practice while teaching. She has over 10 years of trauma-informed social work practice experience conducting assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning for co-occurring clients. Her practice includes substance use disorder treatment, college counseling, grant administration, and child welfare services. She has led a multi-disciplinary treatment team, facilitated co-occurring therapy groups, provided psychotherapy for various client populations, and supervised grant programming and evaluation.
Dr. Tye’s research, publication, and presentation interests are supporting families in the context of substance use, interconnection of substance use disorders and trauma, and college student mental health.
