Dr. Meekyung Han is a professor and co-director of the Child Welfare Partnership for Research and Training at the School of Social Work, San José State University. Her research interests primarily focus on child welfare, mental health issues, the general well-being of marginalized populations, and the enhancement of competent, culturally sensitive practices. As a public child welfare social worker, she has extensive experience in the field and has been actively engaged in researching the child welfare system and the long-term impact of child maltreatment on mental health in later life. Dr. Han has established a strong research agenda and is significantly involved in interdisciplinary research with community-based agencies. She has received multiple honors and awards for her prolific scholarly productivity and contribution to understanding various social issues among different cultural groups. Dr. Han has also provided active research mentorship to students to enhance their learning experiences, and her efforts were recognized with the Outstanding Professor Award from the National Association of Social Workers South Bay Chapter.
