Audrey Bailey is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Certified Supervisor (LICSW-S) in Alabama. Her educational background includes a Master of Social Work from the University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of North Alabama. She holds a Doctor of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky with a concentration in social work education. Dr. Bailey’s research interests include relational-cultural theory’s application to student growth and development and the scholarship of teaching and learning in social work education. Her capstone focused on improving social work competencies in anti-racism, equity, diversity, and inclusion through relational learning, emphasizing self-awareness, cultural mindfulness, and a responsive teaching and learning philosophy.
Dr. Bailey teaches as an assistant professor in the BSW and MSW programs at the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama. As a first-generation college graduate, she advocates for students' educational success, rights, and overall well-being. She is passionate about encouraging and supporting students as they navigate the many challenges that higher education may bring.
As a social work practitioner and educator focusing on transformative, relational-cultural learning, Dr. Bailey’s goal is to inspire and mentor students, instilling empathy, cultural competence, and the transformative power of genuine human connections.
