Dr. LaSharia Turner, currently holds the position of Assistant Professor and Field Coordinator at Alabama A&M University.
Dr. Turner's educational journey led her to attain both her MSW and DSW degrees from the University of Alabama. Throughout her career, Dr. Turner has remained unwavering in her dedication to serving diverse populations, including children and adolescents, individuals with disabilities, and survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence. She is a highly seasoned social work educator with a specialization in the areas of children and adolescent mental health, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, equity and inclusion, and civil rights advocacy.
As a passionate practitioner, Dr. Turner has been particularly committed to barriers associated with service delivery. She has dedicated her efforts to understanding and dismantling the barriers using technology. Her impactful work extends to her ongoing dedication to supporting agencies using a mezzo and macro approach.
