Joana is a PhD candidate in the University of Alabama with a research focus on caregiving for older adults, caregiver burden, and disability. Her work aims to explore the challenges faced by caregivers and develop strategies to alleviate their burden. Joana is dedicated to advancing the understanding of caregiver experiences and improving support systems for both caregivers and older adults in Ghana and immigrants from Sub-Saharan Africa living in the USA.
