Amina Hussain is a clinical social worker and lecturer at Kings School of Social Work- Western University. Amina is highly passionate about advancing social work education and pedagogy. She has been a researcher and community social worker since 2010 and has direct practice experience in four hospitals across Ontario, Canada. She is also a clinical supervisor in two community mental health agencies, where she supervises social workers and registered psychotherapists. As a doctoral candidate, Amina’s dissertation focusses on improving social work practice and professional identity through enhancing social work leadership skills for practice within interdisciplinary care.
Amina has over 23 publications related to social work, psychology, eating disorders, public health, health sciences, and gerontological research. Outside of research and practice, Amina is passionate about community mentorship and outreach work in supporting anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and culturally inclusive mental health care.
