Pre-Conference Field Education Institute: Critical Reflection on Clinical Supervision: A Social Justice Issue in Social Work

This presentation will explore clinical supervision in the context of clinical licensure, providing an overview of barriers to accessing competent clinical supervision and a discussion of the impact of these barriers on social workers’ career achievement. Strategies to break down barriers will be presented.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Upon completion the participant will be able to identify and demonstrate understanding of the factors influencing clinical supervision as related to clinical licensure.
  2. Upon completion the participant will be able to recognize barriers to clinical supervision and understand the impact of barriers on social workers' career advancement.
  3. Upon completion the participant will be able to apply knowledge gained to developing strategies to reduce barriers and promote equity in social work.
