This presentation utilizes the consolidated framework for implementation research (CFIR) to explore factors impacting the implementation of medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) in recovery residences (RR). Multiple factors are likely to impact implementation, including disparate recovery philosophies between MOUD and RR. Implications for social workers are explored.
Learning Objectives:
Define medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) and recovery residences (RR), including efficacy of both treatments.
Explore research that has occurred thus far about the implementation and use of MOUD in RR.
Examine the various CFIR factors (i.e., intervention, inner, outer, individual, and process characteristics) impacting implementation of MOUD based on current research.
