Given the challenges trans patients encounter accessing quality healthcare, this study examined trans patient preferences for discussing gender in healthcare spaces. In addition to reviewing the study’s findings, this presentation will review two activities, informed by the study, that attendees can utilize in social work classrooms.

Learning Objectives:

Identify the four major themes identified in the study results.
Utilize provided information to lead an activity with students related to the role of conceptual frameworks and how they inform practice/research.
Discuss and reflect on the impact of positionality throughout this and similar studies.
