Impact of social resources on children's resilience and coping.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, the participant will be able to comprehend how domestic violence permeates the family, and the victim of domestic violence is not just the adult in the relationship but also the child within the household; the role of children as active agents, developing safety strategies for themselves, younger siblings.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe how availability and accessibility to protective factors and how these social resources serve to counterbalance the harmful effects of exposure to domestic violence.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to assess and examine intervention approaches that focus on a survivor-centered approach. Therapeutic support in the parent-child relationship identifies strengths and resources, strengthens the individual and family unit, and attends to the family, cultural context, and specific needs.
