Ethical Integration of Indigenous Knowledges in Social Work Practice and Education

Ethical integration of Indigenous Knowledges is a means of fulfilling our commitment to anti-racist and decolonial social work education. This presentation identifies decolonial approaches to social work education and practice, highlights strategies for improving curricula and teaching practices, and describes steps for creating inclusive learning environments.

Learning Objectives:

  1. distinguish between decolonial and indigenizing approaches to social work education and practice.
  2. design strategies for improving curricula and teaching practices that ethically incorporate Indigenous Knowledges.
