Latinés in Interethnic Marriages: Predictors of Marital Satisfaction

Interethnic marriages where one spouse is Latiné are increasing. However, these unions are understudied – a noteworthy gap as more social workers will likely be working with these couples. This study examines marital satisfaction to understand which social-environmental factors are salient for marriage satisfaction.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the ways that the current socio-political context may be impacting Latine intermarried couples.
  2. Describe the characteristics of Latine intermarried couples who are more and less satisfied with their marriage.
  3. Increase cultural sensitivity in direct social work practice with interethnic and interracial couples.
