This interactive workshop will focus on research regarding the interplay between anxiety and self-esteem from the perspectives of female Mexican American adolescents and mental health therapists. Using the multifaceted levels of ecological systems theory, the identification and implementation of effective evidence-based practices in the treatment of anxiety will be discussed.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to use the multifaceted levels of ecological systems theory to have a better understanding of the interplay between anxiety and self-esteem from perspectives of female Mexican American adolescents and mental health therapists.
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify the internal and external factors that impact adolescent mental health and effective and evidence-based approaches to treating anxiety symptoms and low self-esteem among the Mexican American adolescent population.
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify how the educational system can assist with addressing anxiety symptoms and low self-esteem to promote positive adolescent development for Mexican American adolescents.
