This qualitative study explored the unique resilience in South Korean children with incarcerated parents. Through thematic analysis, five themes emerged: coping strategies, social support, positive sense-making, future orientation, and cultural values and beliefs. Implications for policy change and social work practice will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, the participant will be able to explore the resilience of South Korean children with incarcerated parents in relation to cultural context.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to compare the identified themes of resilience in South Korean children with existing literature on children of incarcerated parents in other countries, such as the US.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to discuss implications for policy change and social work practice to better support this vulnerable population in South Korea.
