This workshop explores a course titled Indigenous Approaches to Environmental Justice. Participants will receive an overview of the course and students’ experiences, highlighting pedagogical tools incorporating Indigenous knowledge into environmental justice education. Interactive activities and discussion will assist participants in integrating Indigenous knowledge and environmental justice into classrooms and curricula.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will examine social work’s role in environmental justice and discuss how environmental justice content can be integrated into social work courses and programs.
Participants will compare and differentiate Western and Indigenous knowledge and approaches for providing instruction on environmental justice.
Participants will be able to apply educational methods and content for environmental instruction on environmental justice and eco-social work.
