Building a Modularized Simulation-Based Skills Course for Flipped Delivery Skill Trajectories and Outcomes

This paper presentation explores a scaffolded, and modularized, flipped interpersonal practice course designed to build student skills prior to their internship. Integrated online and face-to-face learning modules are explored followed by an analysis of student outcomes. Skill development, measured through observational checklists are used to demonstrate student skill development.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Upon completion, participants will be able to conceptualize and sequence a flipped interpersonal practice course.
  2. Upon completion, participants will be able to plan complementary online and face-to-face learning activities.
  3. Upon completion, participants will be able to plan a multi-phased simulation built upon the generalist practice process.
