We conducted a qualitative study. In this study, we used innovative approaches, such as community-based participatory research, community-advisory board, and applied intersectionality theory to investigate social determinants of health. Our unique approach helped us recruit 35 participants and empowered the community to take part in every step of the study.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, the participants will be able to understand the importance of using participatory methods with marginalized communities.
Upon completion, the participants will be able to understand innovative ways to engage refugees with disabilities, such as providing accommodation.
Upon completion, the participants will be able to learn about their unique challenges, refugees with disabilities face while accessing healthcare, employment, education, and housing.
