This presentation explores the role of spirituality as a driving force for social justice by examining the Philippine People Power Revolution in 1986. This Revolution serves as an exemplar that educators might employ to illustrate how spirituality can be a motivating factor for collective action that facilitates positive social change.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will understand the historical context and key events of the Philippine People Power Revolution in 1986 and recognize the role of spirituality as a driving force for social justice.
Upon completion, participants will recognize the various manifestations of spirituality within the Revolution, including individual actions, programmatic initiatives, and structural change efforts, and understand their significance in facilitating positive social change.
