The goal of the presentation is to present current theory surrounding suicide intervention and assessment in campus mental health settings. Presenters who are MSW students will acknowledge their own positionality and facilitate dialogue on how to better integrate the BIPOC student experience into suicide intervention and assessment.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will review and discuss the landscape of current suicide intervention and assessment in college mental health services.
Participants will examine and grapple with the impact of personal biases and how historical knowledge impacts assessment and interventions.
Participants will foster dialogue around how CRT and Ecological System theory can be used to inform culturally competent suicide interventions and assessments in college mental health services.
