This presentation reports on a study assessing adverse childhood experiences and adult well-being in a sample (N=97) of adult daughters of indigenous abused women. Such knowledge may inform prevention and intervention strategies to help ensure indigenous daughters in high-risk settings are placed on an optimal developmental life-course.
Learning Objectives:
Increase knowledge regarding adverse childhood experiences for adult daughters of indigenous abused women.
Understand how childhood adversity is related to adult levels of resilience and psychological distress.
Learn strategies for applying this research to teaching about feminist empowerment, resilience and the strengths perspective in social work practice.
