This qualitative study sought to better understand how 25 urban, midwestern mothers from diverse family structures, including three generational households, experienced parenting during the pandemic and its aftermath, how they managed economic and other stressors, and behaviors and patterns around seeking support for themselves, their children, and their families.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, the participant will be able to identify maternal risk and protective factors within three generational families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe role strains and role salience experienced by mothers during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe help-seeking behaviors of mothers in multigenerational households.
