This panel explores the use of Black feminist thought and intersectionality through the experiences of the mentor-mentee relationship between professors and graduate students. The panelists will reflect on their experiences and discuss how they facilitated their teaching and mentoring experiences. Implications for teaching and mentoring will be explored.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Define Black feminist thought and intersectionality.
  2. Discuss key components of the mentor-mentee relationship between professors and graduate students to understand how to facilitate doctoral students teaching, learning, and mentoring.
  3. Discuss the utility of Black feminist thought and intersectionality in the mentor-mentee relationship.
