This study explored the association between sense of belonging, campus mental health climate, and depression using a nationally representative sample of Asian college students (n=9589). Results indicated the protective role of sense of belonging in reducing depression. The association between campus climate and depression varies depending on sense of belonging.
Learning Objectives:
Get a picture of Asian college students' mental health status, and sense of belonging to school during post-COVID era.
Develop a deep understanding of the protective role of sense of belonging and campus climate against depression, and how these two construct interactively associated with depression
Have an opportunity to discuss the strategies for cultivating Asian students' sense of belonging and positive campus mental health climate, and discuss social workers and social work educator's role in it.
