The gap between MSW students with high LGBTQIA+ knowledge and practice skills and those with little LGBTQIA+ exposure in the same class can be bridged with pedagogical techniques including class self-evaluations to foster and celebrate a culture of collective growth, and continuous case-based learning activities suitable to all skill levels.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to describe the lack of LGBTQIA+ educational content within MSW programs and implications for emerging social work practitioners.
Participants will identify one way to improve their ability to teach LGBTQIA+ content across all levels of knowledge and skills within the classroom.
