Racism is a public health crisis, warranting a need for antiracist social work practice. Using critical reflection, seven social workers shared their experiences with antiracism. The findings suggest that despite the need for adequate care, BIPOC service users continue to experience adverse consequences in mental health systems due to racism.
Learning Objectives:
Develop an understanding of the ways white supremacy and systemic racism have a consequential effect on clinical practice.
Identify and analyze barriers to clinical social workers integrating anti-racism within their organizations.
Enhance consciousness of the significance of critical reflection when embarking on an anti-racist journey.
