This presentation will explore clinicians’ (N=30) operationalization of a trauma-informed approach to working with clients with suicidal thoughts and behaviors as well as the barriers encountered when doing trauma-informed work with this population. Implications for practicing social workers, schools of social work, and professional organizations are discussed.
