Burn injuries can lead to a cascade of emotional and psychological challenges, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, and a diminished sense of self-worth. Trauma-informed social work recognizes that burn survivors may have experienced trauma not only during the incident itself but also throughout their treatment and recovery journey.
Learning Objectives:
As a result of attending this presentation, participants will: 1. Learn about the psychosocial impact of traumatic burn injuries and be cognizant about burn care utilizing a trauma-informed lens.
