This presentation discusses the results of a qualitative study completed as a requirement for the doctor of philosophy degree in social work. Included in the presentation is the relationship between tribal sovereignty and culture, Indigenous methodology, and conversations with Native individuals working to preserve their culture and reaffirm tribal sovereignty.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Upon completion, the participant should be able to discuss the relationship between tribal sovereignty and culture.
  2. Upon completion, the participant should be able to integrate information about Indigenous methodology in their research methods course
  3. Upon completion, the participant should be able to conceptualize the concept of decolonization.
