As social work clinicians, it is up to us to understand how to navigate those barriers and create a safe space and positive therapeutic environment. This presentation aims to share ways to engage Black Men in Social Work strategically and intentionally by establishing trust, safety, and rapport.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, the participant will be able to learn how to establish trust and build rapport with clients who identify as African-American Men.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to address fear and implicit bias that may be plaguing culturally competent treatment.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to create a space of representation that allows for African-American Men to feel seen, heard, and validated.
